Package Contents:
- The Magic Fire Station: Automated book
reader technology. You can show a book to the firefighters in the Magic
Fire Station and it will automatically start reading that book. The system
knows the current MUSD curriculum, including the leveled readers and theme
books. It also knows, “It’s Time to Call 911, What
to do in an Emergency” and “Stewie the Duck Learns to Swim”. These are the two
most popular books for fire safety and water safety education for younger
students. The system also contains academic lessons that meet the current
common core national educational standards.
- The Reading Bear: This teddy bear can play any
audio lesson. Simply press the power button and it will play the lesson
that you selected. It is so easy to use that kindergarten students are
using it without needing adult assistance. A remote control is available
for adults to select the lesson that is played. This unit contains fire
safety songs and academic lessons for younger students. It also contains
the audio for the fire safety and water safety books. The unit has
built-in speakers and is easy to use as a small portable educational
resource. The Reading Bear also includes a USB recharging cable.
- Portable 911 Phone System: The system
contains a phone system with two analog RJ-11 phone lines. Phone calls can
be routed through the public phone system or locally within the classroom.
This unit has been provisioned and programmed to route 911 calls to another
phone in the classroom. It is intended for training younger students about
calling 911 in an emergency. The 911 calls are routed to a firefighter in
the classroom. Students learn how to call 911 and how to provide important
information to a 911 operator. This package contains two phones and
extended phone cables.
- Books: “It’s Time to Call 911, What to do in an Emergency” and “Stewie the Duck Learns
to Swim”. It also includes the pdf files for the
fire safety guided writing academic lessons.
